Welcome to CarePortal at FBC!

CarePortal is a national organization that connects families in need to churches who are willing to assist with tangible needs, but also spiritual and relational needs. DSS workers in Charlottesville City and Albemarle County can enter needs to support biological, kinship, and foster families, and the churches are the ones who meet the needs. CarePortal creates a bridge between DSS and the churches...where we have permission to not only meet and love families, but to share the gospel!


One of the ways is to join the Careportal team! The primary contact a CarePortal family will have with FBC will be with a Trained Responder. A Trained Responder will complete training, provided by CarePortal, and will be able to engage with clients as we are meeting their needs.

Donations: Bedding & Books

Another way to serve is by becoming a donor!


Our goal is to have several “bed in a box” sets stored on our third floor so we can respond to needs quickly. In order to have consistency as we are meeting needs, we have created a “wish list” on Amazon with direct links to the beds, frames, bedding, etc that we want to provide. The highest cost item is a twin mattress at just under $100 and the items go down in cost from there, making it possible for nearly anyone in our church family to assist.

Driving & Delivery

A final way you can assist is by helping with Delivery / Set up. 


If you have a pick-up truck or mini-van and would be willing to go with a Trained Responder to deliver and help set up a bed to a family, this may be the option for you. No training is required to do delivery / set up.
